I have learned that the one leaning towards divorce is often dealing with a frustration, discouragement, and realization that everything they attempted to better the relationship has not worked.

I have learned that the person wanting to preserve the marriage is often dealing with a desperate need to get their spouse back into the marriage even as they watch them head for separation or divorce.
